| Life is amoral, meaning neither moral nor immoral. It is the great illusion – typified as tragedy and comedy – to put life into either of those categories. That is the illusion created by value. Value would subsume life to itself by calling it ‘good’ or ‘bad,’ ‘moral’ or ‘immoral.’ Life is other than value, being the Other that value continually attempts to dominate. As defined by the transcendent, rather than transcendental values, that are created and destroyed through the successive life-world scaling of it, life’s meaning remains contingent.( from The Hero's Wisdom: Conversation with Fred) | ||||||
