Terms of Application
The candidates must meet the following conditions in order to be an undergraduate student at Fatih University:
- To be a foreign national
- Being born as a Turkish citizen, to have a legal alienage permission form the Ministry of Interior; for the children of such people, registered in the declaration of alienage, to have the Document Regarding the Use of the Rights Given by Law# 5203
- To be a senior student or graduate of a high school
- Not to be a citizen of Turkey or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (or have a dual citizenship right of either country)
- To have graduated from a school equivalent to Turkish high schools
- Not to have a penalty of dismissal from a higher education institute in Turkey despite meeting all other above mentioned requirements.
Documents required for application
- A completely filled application form
- A certified copy of high school diploma. It must be in Turkish or English. It is also possible to get the copy certified by showing the original at the time of application. For those who have not graduated yet, it is required to show a document stating the student is supposed to graduate from their high schools at a certain time. Later on, during the registration process, the applicants will be asked for an “equivalence document” to be given from the Turkish Republic Ministry of National Education or the Turkish Embassy in their country.
- A copy of YÖS (Examination for Foreign Students) record or another exam record any (the national exam in their country, the Examination for Foreign Students or other international exams).
- 50 $ application fee receipt (50$ will be paid to the bank account in Bank Asya Güneşli Şubesi with the account number 6-7543-34. The IBAN Number is: TR050020800006000075430034)
- Swift Code: asyatris. Money order, cashier's check, cash, or other means of payment will not be accepted
- A copy of Passport

Important Information
- The applications shall be assessed by the “Commission for Assessing the International Students” formed by the Rector.
- While assessing, the commission considers 30 % of the national exam in the country the student has studied, the foreign student exam (YÖS), or an international exam; 30% of the secondary school general point average of the candidate; and 40% of the assessment to be done by the university, and places the students accordingly.
- The assessment to be done by the university can be through a written exam, an interview or screening the application file of the students.
- The valid time of the exams having the status of university entrance exams is 2 years.
- The candidates whose applications are accepted shall be listed considering the grades they take and the 20% quota of the countries, and they shall be placed starting from the highest grades and according to the quotas.
- The grades shall be converted into 100 and assessed accordingly.
- The commission can determine substitute quotas as half as the actual quotas.
- In the event that the quotas are not filled in, or there are not enough applicants for a program, the unfilled and unapplied quotas can be added to the other programs by the university.
- The candidates whose applications are accepted are to be sent “an acceptance letter”.
- As the acceptance letters shall be sent via e-mail, the email addresses in the application forms should be filled thoroughly and legibly.
- All the documents have to be in Turkish or English, or have to be translated by a government agency.
- The university is not responsible from the events of tardiness or loss during the correspondence.
- All the responsibility to be caused by mistakes in the application forms belongs to the candidates. As the form will help the application procedure to be easy and correct, the forms have to be filled legibly or typed in a computer. ID information part of the form has to be typed without any change or abbreviation, in capital letters and legibly.
- If even only one document misses among the application documents, then the application shall be regarded invalid.
- The documents to be sent by mail have to be put in the same envelope. The university will not take any responsibility to follow the different envelopes.
- Any forgery in the documents will lead to the cancellation of the application and placement of the students even if the final registration is done.
- The assessment of the applications and the placement of the candidates are completely at the discretion of Fatih University. The university is free to fill the quotas or not. Meeting the application requirements does not necessarily require acceptance for placement.
- The candidates whose applications are accepted are to be sent an acceptance letter. The candidates are to go to the Turkish Embassy in their country or the nearest one together with the acceptance letter and take a study visa. This visa is certainly required to enter Turkey and to be registered to the university.

Medium of Education
Medium of education in our university is English. Medium of education is Turkish only in the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Law. Therefore the students who cannot submit a proficiency exam record in Turkish or English, accepted by our university, will have to take a proficiency test in Turkish or English. Those who fail these exams will attend English or Turkish preparatory school for a year.
Those who submit a valid exam record in these proficiency tests, during the registration process, will be exempt from the preparatory school and they will start directly the program they have enrolled in.
These exams are valid for three years.
The English Proficiency Exams that are valid and the scores required
- 68 from TOEFL IBT
- 5.5 from Academic IELTS exam
- A document showing the student has received an equivalent or higher grade from other international exams
- A document stating the student has successfully finished the English preparatory program in another university.
- A document stating that the student has received his high school education in a country where English is spoken as the native language along with the citizens of the country
- The Turkish Proficiency Exams that are valid and the scores required
- A level from the Turkish Test in the YÖS (the Examination for the Foreign Students) (valid for two years)
- A TÖMER certificate or a document showing that the student has successfully completed a Turkish language course
- A document stating that the student has received his high school education in a country where Turkish is spoken as the native language along with the citizens of the country
- A document stating the student has successfully finished the Turkish preparatory program in another university.
Education Fee
Education at Fatih University is subject to payment. The education fee is as given below:
- 5000 USD for the prep school for the undergraduate programs
- 12000 USD for the Faculty of Medicine
- 8000 USD for the Faculty of Law
- 4500 USD for all the departments of the Faculty of Science and Letters
- 7500 USD for all the departments of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering
The education fees will be paid in Turkish currency in accordance with the rates of the Central Bank of Turkish Republic and the payment will be made in two installments. The 8% VAT is included in the fees.
A laptop computer is given free of charge to each student registering to out university for the first time.
